Empathy Lens is a project created in collaboration with Västerbotten region medical care in Sweden. Created by a group of three, the project addresses the question of the vision of medical care in 2050.
The group in which I worked decided to present a vision of medicine as one that focuses more on preventing relapse than curing patients. The project was dedicated to incurable mental illnesses,
such as bipolar disorder.

In the vision for the project, a metaphor for a garden was used. In this metaphor, patients are placed like flowers for which their gardener, i.e. the doctor, is responsible. Patients in the garden are aware that someone is taking care of them and can always ask for help because someone is watching over them. The doctor, on the other hand, walks through the garden, looks at his patients, and sees their needs.
In this metaphor, the garden is represented by an interactive board on which elliptical spheres illustrate the patient's rest.

Each patient has a sphere with them, and using pressure and an app connected to the device, they can send their emotions directly to the sphere visible on their doctor's desk. In this way, a patient profile
is built from the data that the patient themselves provide to their doctor.

The project was showcased at the Swedish pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
